Six60 have postponed their February 8 Hawke’s Bay concert with a band spokesperson saying “the venue wasn’t up to scratch”.

Hamish Gordon from Shed 530 Estate, where the February 8 concert was due to take place, said the postponement was due to factors “outside of their control” and they are “unable to present the show as we want, and as the band wants to our venue”.

“However, we’re grateful Six60 are sticking with us and bringing this tour to Shed 530 Estate in October.”

Tickets for the concert are still on sale, with bought tickets rolling over to the new date or refunds available.

Heidi Ettema, Six60’s publicist, said it was a shame that the concert couldn’t go ahead in February.

The Six60 boys are still “super stoked” to play Hastings later in the year.

Ettema said there were a “few factors” behind the postponement, but mainly “the venue wasn’t up to scratch to where we needed it to be to put on a show that the band wanted to”.

“We’ll give them another few months and we’ll be able to bring the show that the band want to bring,” she said.

According to Ettema, Hastings District Council (HDC) staff and venue management met on Wednesday to come together on the postponement details.

The last time Six60 played Hawke’s Bay was at Napier’s McLean Park in November 2022.

For punters left without a gig on February 8, there are still plenty of things happening in the Bay that weekend, including Napier’s Sound Shell concert and the Te Awanga Wine Festival, with Art Deco Festival the following weekend.
