Firefighters are still trying to determine the cause of a large shed fire that sent clouds of smoke billowing over Hastings on Sunday morning.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said firefighters attended the blaze at about 8.50am.

Hastings station officer Fred Housham said the fire was “well involved” when firefighters arrived, affecting half of the shed.
