An elerly man was fighting for his life after a crash today.

An elderly man is fighting for his life after a crash today.
In what appears to be a medical event, he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a traffic island near the intersection of Havelock and St Georges roads about 11.20am.
The car came to rest with its rear on pedestrian barriers.
Police are on the scene and people can expect traffic delays, with Havelock Rd closed.
No other car was involved in the accident.
