One person dead, two others in moderate condition after crash closes Napier-Taihape Road

Serious crash closes the Napier-Taihape Rd, two with moderate injuries.

One person has died and two others have been transported to Hawke’s Bay Hospital in moderate condition after a crash that closed the Napier-Taihape Rd.

Emergency services were called to the incident involving one vehicle and a pedestrian who died at the scene near Comet Rd about 11.30am on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said the road is currently blocked, and a scene examination is being carried out.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said one helicopter, one operations manager, and one ambulance attended.

“Two patients, both in moderate condition, are being transported by road to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.”
