Saddle Rd is now open for business after being closed for several hours today after a truck rolled near Woodville in the Tararua District.

The crash occurred at 7.30 this morning and there were no injuries but the road was closed from 9am while emergency services removed the truck.

Police said the road would be closed for at least six hours and asked motorists to use the alternate route - the Pahiatua Track.

The Saddle Rd became the main thoroughfare from Hawke's Bay to Palmerston North after the closure of the Manawatu Gorge last year.

Later in the afternoon emergency services were called to two crashes in the Hawke's Bay region.
