Auckland Storm rugby winger Makineti Hufanga broke the NPC tryscoring record for male and female players in Napier today.

Huganga scored her 16th try of the season as Auckland retained their women's NPC title with a 39-9 victory over the Wellington Pride at McLean Park. The previous record, 15, was held by Auckland's former All Black wnger Terry Wright and former Otago and Scotland winger Brendan Laney.

Centre Theresa Fitzpatrick scored three of Auckland's seven tries and Central Hawke's Bay College product and Black Ferns halfback Emma Jensen also scored. Former Hawke's Bay Tuis flanker Lydia Crossman played her 50th match for Auckland today.

Wellington first five-eighth Lizzie Goulden scored all the Pride's points with three penalties from four attempts at goal.
