Defending champions Napier Old Boys Marist will host Hastings Rugby and Sports in next week's semifinals of Hawke's Bay's Maddison Trophy premier club rugby competition.
Hawke's Bay Insurances Limited Napier Old Boys Marist recorded their 32nd consecutive win with a 48-7 victory against Tanalised Napier Pirate Rugby and Sports at Park
Island today. Althern Window Systems Napier Technical will host K9 Petfoods Clive in the other semifinal. Progressive Meats Havelock North will be missing from the semifinals for the first time since 1994.
This will be the sixth season since the semifinal-final format was introduced in 1988 that Carters Frame and Truss Taradale will be missing from the semifinals. Taradale were semifinalists for the previous five years.
Tech last reached the semifinals in 2013 when they went on to beat NOBM in the final and Clive will be making their first semifinal appearance since 2008 when they were beaten by Havelock North in the final.

Napier Technical 42 (E Martin, T Samuels, T Walters, T McGuire, M Braidwood tries; J Bristol 2, D Ramsay 2 cons; Bristol 2, Ramsay pens), Havelock North 7 (T Symon-Burke try; D Snee con). HT: 15-7.
Clive 31 (K Peni 2, J Eden-Whaitiri, N Bruce, T Falcon tries; T Poto 3 cons), Taradale 7 (K Whakataka try; S Dean con). HT: 19-0.
Hastings Rugby and Sports 57 (M Emerson, J Rihia, J Long, M Mikaele-Tu'u, P Nu'u, T Vaiusu, G Cridge, B Hamelink, E Chung Ching tries; T Agnew 5, Long cons), MAC 0. HT: 24-0.
Central 30 (S Baker, H Carroll, M McFayden, C Eru tries; L Baker 2 pens, 2 cons), Tamatea 21 (J Harris, A Robinson-Bartlett, T Rowlands tries; Harris 3 cons). HT: Tamatea 21-18.
