A rescue chopper was called to the scene of a quad bike crash on a Hawke's Bay farm.

The Hawke's Bay Rescue Helicopter was called to an accident on a farm in Ashley Clinton on Monday where a female farm worker had sustained a serious injury in a quad bike accident.

A spokeswoman said St John Ambulance were first on the scene to help the patient. "We then transported an Intensive Care Paramedic from St John to the scene to help stabilise the patient and administer additional pain relief and then transferred them back to Hawke's Bay Hospital for further treatment."
