The ever popular Christmas Shoppe will once again be open for one week in its new location at the Taradale Town Hall.

Run in the first week of December the shoppe opens its doors to a room filled with 24 individually decorated Christmas trees, which are adorned with exquisite decorations.

There are also tables of beautiful centrepieces and wreaths as well as gorgeous gifts and festive candles to purchase.

The event begun in 2007, when Mel Treweek had an idea to create a unique Christmas Shoppe as a fundraiser for a local school.

Eight years later this "pop up" shoppe has become a must-do event on many Christmas lovers' calendars.

Together with her husband Kim, Mrs Treweek is "very excited" about this year's shoppe.

"Each year we add more beautiful stock to the collection," she said. "We just can't wait for our customers to see what we have instore. Local school choirs will also be performing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 5.30pm at the Christmas Shoppe and on Tuesday evening at 5.30pm we are delighted to announce we will have students from Project Prima Volta singing."

For the fifth year, the shoppe is supporting Child Cancer Foundation. Visitors can make a gold coin donation for entry and take part in raffles and mystery envelopes.

"Building on the success of last year's event, which was the most successful event to date, we hope to beat our record and raise $15,000 for the Child Cancer Foundation this year.

"Businesses who take part can invite their clients to a special preview evening, giving them a chance to snap up the most-sought after decorations."

-The Christmas Shoppe is open to the public from Tuesday, 1 December - Friday, 4 December from 2pm-8pm and Saturday, 5 December from 10am-4pm.

Santa visits the shoppe each night (Tues-Fri at 6pm and Saturday at 12pm)
