Police have located a nine-year-old boy who went missing this morning in Hastings, wearing a shark onesie.

Nine-year-old Blair Crabtree was reported missing from his home on Outram Rd, Akina, Hastings this morning, Hawkes Bay police say.

He was seen on the footpath of Heretaunga St/Willowpark Rd at 5.15am, wearing a grey shark onesie.

Police have been making enquiries all day and say he has now been found safe and well.

"Police would like to thank the community for being supportive and for offering helpful and kind comments on social media," they said in a statement.
