Kaea Karauria, inset, was found critically injured with stab wounds on Alexander Ave in Napier, and later died.

Police have arrested another teenager in relation to the fatal stabbing of Kaea Karauria in Napier.

Detective Inspector Martin James said the teen was taken into custody early this morning.

“The youth has been charged with injuring with intent to injure, and will appear in Youth Court at a later date.“

He said the arrest was another step to providing closure for Kaea’s family and loved ones.

“The investigation into the matter will continue and further arrests cannot be ruled out.

“These six arrests in total show the dedication this team has to give Kaea the justice he deserves.“

Kaea, 15, died in the early hours of May 11 this year, Mother’s Day.

He was discovered critically injured with stab wounds on Alexander Ave in Napier by police responding to reports of disorder at a birthday party nearby.
