There may be a mid-winter chill in the air but someone who decided to grab a Lotto ticket at one of Hawke's Bay's luckiest outlets will be feeling a fair bit of warmth in their hearts - $500,000 worth of warmth.

The ticket, for the half-share of Lotto's division 1 million-dollar prize was sold at Andrew Spence Pharmacy in Onekawa, Napier and continues a glowing run for the agency.

It has sold 12 first division prizes, not to mention a major Powerball win and a half-million-dollar Wheel of Fortune prize, which all up has seen $32.1 million in prize money roll out of the outlet.

Mr Spence said he was slightly "gobsmacked" at the news.

Had the great run of luck been the result of some magic spell he had arranged to have cast over the premises? "No, no magic spells but we do seem to get our fair share of good luck."

With a bottle of bubbly set aside should the lucky winner arrive to cash it in, Mr Spence said it was "a coin toss" when it came to people heading for the outlet they bought a major winning ticket from to get it cashed.

"Many will go straight to Auckland as they want to keep it quiet, while some only find out when they go back the next week to get a ticket and get the old ones checked while they're there."

He carries a simple philosophy when it comes to whoever is clutching the ticket with the magical six numbers all lined up.

"We hope the lucky winner is one of our regular players and wish them lots of enjoyment and pleasure from their winnings."

Saturday's second winning ticket was sold at Woody's Winners in Wellsford, North Auckland.

Powerball was not struck and has jackpotted to $9 million. Strike Four was also not struck and it sits at $500,000.
