Emergency services have re-opened Pakowhai Road in Hastings, following a serious crash at Tomoana this morning.
Emergency services were called to the incident involving a truck and a car on Pakowhai Road just before 8am.
Eastern District Police confirmed that one person had been taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital with moderateinjuries.
Diversions were in place along Ruahapia Rd and Elwood Rd, while emergency services dealt with the incident, before police re-opened the road at about 9.40am.
"Traffic is still heavy in the area but is clearing", a police spokesperson said.
