A person has been arrested after threatening somebody with what looked like a firearm in Hastings.

Police received a report of a person being threatened by another at the intersection of Southampton St West and Railway Rd at about 12.30pm on Monday.

A police spokesperson said it was not yet clear if the firearm was an imitation or real firearm.

One person was arrested on Hastings St South shortly after the incident.
