Jethro ThermoBee learned to DJ in Napier 20 years ago and will be returning to wow the Hawke's Bay crowds on New Year's Eve.

Jethro ThermoBee learned to DJ in Napier 20 years ago and will be returning to wow the Hawke's Bay crowds on New Year's Eve.

A lucky 500 will welcome in New Year's Eve by "stepping forward into the past" in a 24 hour, close-knit party.

'Future Primitive', presented by Weapons of Mass Happiness would be "a place for all to share and enjoy, where you can lose your self and find your being in the magic of space and sound".

Weapons of Mass Happiness founder Greg O'Neill said they were working hard to make sure whoever came would have a "24hr stonkingly wicked New Year's Eve".

Mr O'Neill has been organising massive parties for the past 20 years, with Future Primitive hosted where many had been held - at Sanctuary in Pukehou, Central Hawke's Bay.

The theme could be interpreted however guests wanted. "The name just came to me... it's just a bit tribal, a bit future, people can take it how they want to.

"Don your best Future Primitive outfit, leave your beef at home and usher in 2016 dancing with the tribe."

The party would also celebrate the anniversary of UK-based Jethro ThermoBee's DJ career, which began in Napier 20 years ago.

The line-up of local and international DJs would take the crowd on "a journey through multiple genres of dance music, an eclectic, synaptic stimulation of deep, primal, tribal grooves twisting, morphing and evolving in new enticing directions".

There would be shower and toilet facilities on site, with limited campsites available.

-To make sure you don't miss out, get your tickets for Future Primitive from Cosmic Ticketing, King Of Swords, 192 Hastings St, Napier, or Espresso Loco, 4 Railway Esplanade, Waipukurau. Tickets are $50, booking charge may apply.
