A man charged with wounding with intent to injure his nine-month-old daughter did not seek bail when he appeared in Hastings District Court yesterday.
The infant was admitted to hospital with head injuries following a domestic dispute in Flaxmere on June 25 and has since been discharged from hospital.
The 29-year-old man
was arrested after surrendering himself to the Hastings police station and charged with breaching a protection order.
Judge Geoff Rea granted a request from lawyer Matthew Phelps for name suppression, to be reviewed at the man's next appearance on July 19.
He was originally charged with wounding with reckless disregard causing grievous bodily harm.
