Hawke's Bay is home to a range of cafes catering to every taste. Astrid Austin lists nine of the many available.

1. EastEnd Cafe and Bar
At 250 Marine Parade, Wairoa, EastEnd provides breakfast and brunch as well as refreshments, including coffee.

2. Clifton Cafe
This award-winning cafe is at 468 Clifton Rd, Te Awanga. It is a great place to enjoy breakfast, or lunch, whilst admiring the views.

3. Box Espresso Bar, Clive
Box Espresso, at 168 Main Rd, Clive is literally a box. The unique container cafe uses first-hand coffee, sells the products it uses. Sweet treats by MJ's Cakes are also on offer.

4. Milk and Honey

5. Bay Espresso
Bay Espresso has several cafes including Hastings, Havelock North and Taradale. It provides coffee and a range of food, both sweet and savoury. Hours vary.

6. Chalk 'n' Cheese
At 393 Te Mata Rd, Havelock North, this cafe is open from 9am to 3pm daily. It will be closed on New Year's Day.

8. Emporium Eatery & Bar
Emporium Eatery & Bar is in the Art Deco Masonic Hotel, on the corner of Tennyson Street and Marine Parade. It offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.

9. The Lilly Pond
