Police said public input helped in the arrest of two youths after a dairy robbery in Napier on Wednesday evening.

Two young people have appeared in the Youth Court at Napier after allegedly robbing a dairy.

A robbery was reported on Bill Hercock Ave in Pirimai, Napier, about 6pm on Wednesday.

Police said one young person was found and arrested on Thursday night, while the other was arrested during the execution of a search warrant on Friday morning.

The pair allegedly used a stolen car in the robbery, which has since been recovered by police, thanks to information received from the public.

Both youths were scheduled to appear in court on Friday, charged with aggravated robbery and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.
