Some delays are still being experienced on State Highway 2 north of Napier as work continues at the scene of a crash in which a truck and a log hauler left the road between Putorino and Kotemaori on Monday.
They were not obstructing the highway, but police said the road
was being closed from 10am to midday today so that two cranes could be used to salvage the vehicles.
Early this afternoon police said the salvage, which was taking place in good weather, was taking longer than expected and while some traffic was being allowed through on a "stop-go basis" delays were expected into the late afternoon.
