For the second time Mitre 10 Mega Napier has been crowned the Mitre 10 Mega Store of the Year.

General manager retail Rodger van der Gulik said it was a proud accomplishment for staff.

"The competition for these awards is really tough, so two wins in three years must mean we're doing something right," he said."It's really great to see everyone recognised for all their hard work."

Owners Graeme and Stephen Ricketts praised the team for their win, awarded at the The Mitre 10 New Zealand Awards at the SkyCity Convention Centre in Auckland.

Graeme Ricketts said store manager Todd Donaldson "does a great job looking after the team".

"We couldn't be prouder of their achievements and they definitely deserve this recognition."

Mitre 10 Mega Napier was chosen as the best of the 41 Mitre 10 Mega stores nationwide, after a panel of judges assessed it on customer and supplier feedback, store presentation, staff performance and financial performance.

Mitre 10 CEO Neil Cowie said Napier beat strong competition and was a deserving winner.
