Mission Estate Winery’s long-standing chief executive, Peter Holley, has resigned after almost 30 years running the iconic Napier venue.

Mission Estate Winery said Holley’s resignation was due to health reasons.

“Peter has not only provided a long and dedicated service, but has been a cornerstone of rel="" title="https://www.nzherald.co.nz/hawkes-bay-today/news/robbie-williams-mission-concert-review-a-phenomenon-to-mirror-napiers-biggest-event/J2I7JWVVQVGBLIFHG5QB55MS7Y/">the Mission’s growth and evolution, guiding the organisation through decades of transformation, innovation, and success,” a Mission Estate Winery statement read.

As well as being a standout winery, Mission Estate has been home to the iconic Mission Concerts since 1993.

Those concerts have attracted dozens of world-renowned artists to perform at the venue, from Sir Elton John to Robbie Williams.

Mission Concert board chairman Philip Hocquard said the organisation was “deeply grateful” for Holley’s decades of service, and the foundation he had built for the future.

“Peter’s unwavering commitment, vision, and leadership have left an indelible mark on our organisation,” he said.
