Napier burglar appears to be wearing court ankle bracelet in security footage

Photos of two alleged burglars running away with items from a Napier home have been shared on Facebook, with one of them appearing to wear a monitoring ankle bracelet.

The woman on the left of the photo appears to have a monitoring bracelet on her left leg and a tattoo on the right, according to the person who posted the photos to a Facebook group.

"Guess they did not read the camera signs," the man said on Facebook.

Police have confirmed they are investigating a burglary at a property in Kennedy Rd in the early hours of March 7.

"It is reported that nine statues were stolen from the yard of the property," a police spokesperson told the Herald.

The matter was reported to police on March 13 and inquiries are ongoing.

Police could not confirm whether the person in the security camera image is wearing a monitoring bracelet.
