Motorcycle crash on SH2, Nūhaka, Hawke's Bay: Woman seriously injured

State Highway 2 has reopened after a motorcycle crash near Nūhaka left a woman with serious injuries.

The highway near Tahaenui Rd was blocked about 10.10am as the woman was flown to Hawke's Bay Hospital in a serious condition by the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter.

General manager Ian Wilmot said it was believed the woman had "swerved to avoid something and skidded" before crashing.

Both lanes of SH2 were closed at the Tahaenui bridge but reopened from 11.30am.
