A Mongrel Mob associate on the run from Hawke's Bay police has been caught.

Miharo Jason Papa, 29, who has a newly tattooed swastika on his cheek, triggered two AOS callouts during the past couple of weeks as police searched for him.

A police spokesperson said a search warrant was executed yesterday by Hawke's Bay police in Waipukurau.

"During the course of that search police have located Miharo Papa. He was taken into custody without incident and is appearing in Hastings District Court today."

The spokesperson said he would face charges of male assaults female, driving while disqualified, two charges of threatening language, two charges of threatening to damage property, and a charge of breaching court release conditions.
