Maharakeke Stream, SH2, south of Waipukurau, near the site of a farm accident this morning.

A man who sparked a large emergency services callout has been freed after he was trapped by a tractor in Waipukurau.

Emergency services were called to the rural address in Central Hawke's Bay at about 10.30am this morning.

A police spokesperson said the man's legs had become trapped under a tractor on a private property at Maharakeke Rd.

He was freed without injury about 40 minutes later, with the assistance of the fire service.
