A man has been charged after allegedly attacking four staff members at Hawke's Bay Hospital's Emergency Department, Stuff reports.
The 20-year-old is accused of attacking two doctors, a care associate and a security guard while being treated about 7.30pm on Sunday.
The man has been charged with assault and trespassed from all District Health Board facilities.
Hawke's Bay Hospital Chief Operating Officer John Burns said the four staff members were allegedly punched by the man.
All four received treatment for their injuries, but no one required admission to hospital, according to Burns.
"The District Health Board has zero tolerance to violence and in relation to this event the person, has been trespassed from all Hawke's Bay District Health Board facilities, except if medical treatment was required," he said.
Burns added: "The matter is now with the police."
Stuff reported the man was due to appear in court on Friday.
