A major Spark outage means many New Zealanders are without landlines and mobile phone coverage.
It is not known how many people are affected by the outage which is also impacting 0800 numbers.
Spark says it's making progress towards fixing the outage.
The problem is mainly affecting large businesses which operate on a platform called Broadsoft.
Spark says people with regular copper landlines should be able to use their phones as normal, and the mobile network is also operating.
