What makes you qualified to be mayor? Made with funding from NZ On Air.

The race is on to be mayor of Hastings District.

In the third of four videos, Local Focus asks the candidates: "What in your background makes you qualified to be our mayor?"

The candidates are: Bayden Barber, Sandra Hazlehurst, Simon Nixon, Stuart Perry, Allister Tosh and Waitawhara Tupaea.

Postal voting ballots are due in letter boxes in November and if sitting councillors
Bayden Barber, Sandra Hazlehurst or Simon Nixon become mayor, another by-election will be necessary ahead of the normal election cycle in 2009.
