After Mission Concert Club members snapped up all the pre-sale tickets for next year's Phil Collins concert, fans will still have one last chance to grab themselves an entry ticket as a small public allocation goes on sale from 10am tomorrow. The indications are they will also be snapped up quickly with the "sold out" signs set to be used again.

However, the concert management crew have advised that anyone who missed out should check out and keep an eye out on a "wait list" set up for future ticket "alerts".

The organisers have made it clear that tickets should only be bought through Ticketek and the Mission site, marking their on-line ticketing page with the clear advice "do not buy from Viagogo".

The Viagogo site has long attracted both anger and disappointment through selling unofficial tickets which will not allow entry to events like the Mission Concert.

In the wake of the huge initial demand, Sport and Entertainment (SEL) operations manager Garry Craft said staging a second concert could be done, although it would depend on getting things to "fall into place" to achieve it.

The organisers had to establish if there would be enough demand for a big second concert as well as whether people would head for a concert on Thursday which unlike the Wednesday, Waitangi Day, was not a public holiday.

And it also depended on whether Collins would be prepared to extend his stay for a second concert.

There was no update on that scenario at this stage from concert management, but two Phil Collins concerts two days in a row would be huge for the region, Hawke's Bay Tourism general manager Annie Dundas said.

"As Phil says in his song — 'one more night!" Dundas said.

"It would certainly be great for Napier and the whole region."

Accommodation would potentially be a factor though, she said, and was something which would have to be seriously looked at.

"But people could put their homes up for rent and there are so many motorhome travellers now."

Napier Mayor Bill Dalton agreed with Dundas.

"We could handle it and there is no doubt it would be fantastic if we were to get a second concert."

That was in the hands of concert management and of course with the 67-year-old artist himself.

"It would be great to have him stay and do a second concert but it could is a big ask though," he said.

It would not be out of the question for Collins though, as the demands for tickets for his Sydney show on January 21 has been so great the promoters have got him doing a second show the following day.

He opens his tour downunder at Brisbane on January 19, followed by Sydney January 21 and now 22, Adelaide January 25, Perth January 28 and Melbourne February 1.

Then it is to Christchurch for the February 4 concert and the Mission Estate for the February 6 concert ... and maybe a February 7?
