Dannevirke is set to be hit by strong winds tomorrow and Thursday.
Tararua District Council chief executive Blair King said Dannevirke's fire brigade was sent to a couple of weather-related calls on Sunday as winds reached 120-130km/h.
However, there had been very little wind in Dannevirke yesterday. Weather had been mainly fine with the exception of a hail shower.
Wind gusts yesterday morning led to some slight delays on scheduled flights through the Bay.
