Charlie O'Brien breaks the world record for swinging for more than 32 hours on a park swing in Taradale.
"I was toast."
After smashing a world record some might have thought Charlie O'Brien would have gone and celebrated his achievement - but something about spending more than 33 hours on a swing will make you think differently.
"I was dead, as soon as I got home at around fourI went straight to bed and literally slept for like 15 hours straight," O'Brien said.
He officially finished his time at 33 hours and 11 minutes, beating the previous record by held by Aimee Pivott (New Zealand) by 1 hour and 9 minutes.
O'Brien originally planned to go for 40 hours, finishing at 10pm on Thursday, but said his body just wasn't going to handle getting to that time.
"I looked at some news sites this morning and it was crazy to see all the stuff that was online and it was a bit weird seeing my picture everywhere,
"I do have to say some of the pics are a bit unflattering, I saw one on some other country's website and it was of me in the early stages and it was one where I had a little bit of vomit in my mouth, so yeah not the best view of me."
Where to now? Well, for O'Brien he's not quite sure but says that he will first rest up and maybe start to take in all he's done.
"It's all still sinking in, but the first thing I'm going to do is get more sleep and then try to get my head around all of this."
Now everything is finished. Confirmation has to be made of the record which will see a video of the event being sent off to officials of Guinness World Records to go over and make it authentic, which could take weeks.
Although he is absolutely spent after his record swing he hasn't ruled out at having a go at another world record.
"We'll see, we'll see, I won't do anything for a while but you never know, maybe."
