More than 600 entries to our summer photo competition have been meticulously whittled down to the six best.

The finalists for the Hawke’s Bay Today Harvey Norman Canon summer photo competition are a mix of rain and sun, just like the summer that Hawke’s Bay itself has been experiencing.

The criteria for the competition were simple: Amateur photographers showing us their best photo representing summer holidays in Hawke’s Bay, with bonus points for wow factor and unusual angles.

The standard was incredibly high and reaching a top six was far from simple, such was the calibre of entries.

The judges – Hawke’s Bay photographer Brad Wyatt Molenaar and Hawke’s Bay Today editor Chris Hyde – will decide the winner, runner-up and third-place-getter next week.
