Police had by late-morning on Sunday made no arrests in relation to Hawke’s Bay’s latest ram-raid at the Four Square Cape View on Clifton Rd, Haumoana.

The hit happened about 12.35am on Saturday, the middle weekend of the school holidays, when a stolen Mazda Demio was rammed into the front entrance.

Police said on Sunday the second vehicle, a silver car with a distinctive white bumper, was still being sought and police were seeking information about that vehicle, its movements and occupants, and about the Mazda which, while not reported missing at the time of the raid, had been unlawfully taken from Havelock North earlier in the night.

The business reported on social media on Saturday morning that the shop was closed because of the damage, but later posted: “Thank you everyone for all your kind words and support. We really do have the best community.”
