Hawke's Bay Power Consumers' Trust candidate profile - Garth Cowie

As retiring CEO of Napier Port, I believe my past track record in an infrastructure business, business acumen and clear-thinking will add value to the Power Consumers' Trust.

Although I am inexperienced in local body politics compared to the other candidates, I believe this is an attribute and I bring a fresh commercial approach and outlook, without any pre-determined agendas or affiliations to vested interest groups. I am my own man and, if elected, will consider all issues impartially and objectively with an open mind, and always with the power consumers' interests first.

I believe my infrastructure experience will support Unison by the selection and appointment of skilled directors that will continue Unison's diversification and help grow Unison's profits for the benefit of all the power consumers and ultimately the trust.

I bring to the table an understanding of the changing nature of work, and its impact on communities, the growing influence of technology, improved environmental outcomes and awareness, and the impact of growing diversity, as Unison continues its development.

I support the payment of Unison dividends to the individual power consumers directly and will work tirelessly in the best interest of all those consumers.

At the end of the day it's the consumers' money and the power consumers of Hawke's Bay are best placed to decide how they spend their own money.

I need and welcome your support and vote.
