Hawke's Bay Hospital still in 'code red' mode

Hawke's Bay Hospital remained in "code red" today with high patient volumes in the emergency department and high admissions.
Last week high numbers of people arrived with a range of problems, including injuries, sickness and medical conditions.
The extra demand on resources meant some patients had waits of six hours-plus and some elective surgeries had to be cancelled. Hawke's Bay District Health Board chief operating officer Warrick Frater urged people to seek a GP's help early, unless in an emergency.
