A multi-vehicle crash on the Hawke’s Bay expressway partially blocked the southbound lane near the Taradale Rd roundabout and left one person in a moderate condition on Wednesday morning.
Police also confirmed a truck was involved in the crash, which occurred at about 8.50am.
A police spokesperson said one person was transported to hospital with moderate injuries.
As of 9.30am, the road remained partially blocked while a clean-up was undertaken. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
The police spokesperson said an oil spill was likely involved in the incident and required clean up.
As at 11.47am the Expressway had been cleared and the blocked lane was open to traffic, a Waka Kotahi spokesman said
Waka Kotahi said they want to thank road users for their understanding and making alternative arrangements while emergency services attended the multi-vehicle crash.
