Hawke's Bay businesses can get help unlocking the mysterious Southeast Asian market with an expert programme at the Hawke's Bay Business Hub this week.

Export NZ Hawke's Bay executive director Amanda Liddle said Southeast Asia promises vast markets for Hawke's Bay exporters but the region contained many different cultures and much social, economic and technological change.

To help Hawke's Bay businesses get to grips with those issues, ExportNZ and the Southeast Asian Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence would be hosting a free seminar for Hawke's Bay businesspeople on Wednesday."Southeast Asian is an exciting market for Hawke's Bay producers and there is much for us to learn to take advantage of the opportunities.

"Tapping into the mindset of customers in different countries in Southeast Asia and working out how to communicate a value proposition to those customers is essential."

The seminar would comprise a one-day workshop - in two segments.

The first segment would help businesses work out which Southeast Asian market is right for them.

"The second segment will help businesses understand more about their chosen markets and learn from market experts on issues including local partnerships, finding how to reach customers in those markets, and framing their value proposition for those customers."

Liddle said the seminar would provide an exciting chance for businesses to learn from market experts and from each other to improve their ability to export successfully.
