Another heavy rain warning has been issued by the Metservice, which is forecasting up to 100mm to fall over the Hawke's Bay ranges from midnight to tomorrow afternoon.
The heaviest falls are expected mid-morning tomorrow. The Hawke's Bay Regional Council hydrology team said it could have serious implications on river levels
and flooding was a possibility, but it depended where the rain fell. Smaller catchments could become full quickly, while the bigger rivers could handle high rainfall more easily.
Rivers around the region had dropped to more normal levels since the weekend, and it was a ``watch-and-see' situation for council staff.
Heavy rain and gale warnings have also been issued for Northland, Auckland, Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and Gisborne.
