Flaxmere garden shed goes up in flames

A garden shed in Flaxmere was engulfed with flames.

Soaring flames from a Flaxmere garden shed fire were visible from hundreds of metres away.

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokeswoman said they had received multiple calls about a fire around Bristol Cres and Bristol Pl about 8.30pm on Thursday.

Two fire trucks from the Hastings Fire Station attended, and firefighters found the garden shed well ablaze.

The flames had engulfed the two-metre by three-metre structure. Firefighters were dousing the flames until about 9pm.
