Hunt and Seek Fashion in the Field was a fashionista's dream with the standard of not only entrants but onlookers proving impressive.
Colour schemes ranged from brights to black and white, but it was lady-like class that stole the show: Overall winner Olivia Moor, from Auckland, could not be faulted from head to toe.
The judging panel comprised Fashion Quarterly editor Sally-Ann Mullin, Rhythm & Vines founder Hamish Pinkham and Hawke's Bay Today fashion writer Amy Shanks.
Ms Moor's floral print Jackie O style vintage dress was given added interest with a large white bow that fell elegantly from her shoulder and blue toned accessories.
Her look was perfectly executed with a sleek bun, simple makeup, dazzling smile and genuine excitement as her name was called to pick up the grand prize - a trip for two to Hawaii.
The jewellery designer will be taking sister Charlotte on the four-day adventure. Ms Moor is no stranger to the catwalk having won Viva Prix de Fashion last year before coming second at the Melbourne Cup - along with other provincial titles.
Her mother, Ali, creates bespoke fascinators, including the one she was wearing at Saturday's Bostock New Zealand's Spring Racing Carnival Livamol Classic.
Judge and Fashion Quarterly editor Sally Ann Mullin said the overall finish was "perfection".
Among the prim, proper and polished was an array of delightfully different designs. The Jenny Nilsson House of Travel Avant Garde section gives young talent time to shine, and it did.
Hawke's Bay's Simone Germain, from Bay View, made a statement in an outfit which transformed with the flash of a cape, opening to reveal a skintight onepiece in the form of an icecream cone.
Ms Mullin was immediately intrigued by the design as was the rest of the panel.
Headwear winner Naomi Puketapu-Waite, from Brixton, topped her look off perfectly with a fascinating piece of headwear that demanded attention in flattering tan and orange colour palette.
Grandfathers cane was a lucky charm for Ben Stinson, of Cambridge, whose tan three-piece suit with burgundy accents did the trick in a Classic Menswear section.
The effort was evident in this look - the result sharp and formal.
