Flaxmere Community Centre initiative creates a healthier community

The Flaxmere Community Centre, led by former Hawke's Bay basketball representative Graham Takie, aims to give people of all ages multiple opportunities to take part in health and fitness.

It is this dedication to helping others which has seen Mr Takie grace the calendar for the month of November.

The diverse experiences and backgrounds of the staff managing the facility, including specialists in youth activity and development, and in sport-specific programming sets them apart and assures the Flaxmere community have the best support and advice.

As a Hastings District Council facility, it is used for a wide range of activities.
