Chief executive Rick Cransick was tight-lipped on how many teams were competing this year because of the competition for the most teams running in the event. A record 24 teams entered in 2013.

"Families are important and we really enjoy getting partners and children involved in the day."

Crowe Horwath team trainer Alice Adams said everyone had been busy training using their own fitness programmes.
