Fire destroys Napier warehouse

 Fire has destroyed an empty meat warehouse in Napier overnight.

Fire Service was called to the warehouse on Waitangi Road about 3.30am, Central Fire Communications shift manager Mike Wanoa said.

Six fire trucks fought the blaze which ripped through the warehouse for about three hours.

It was a ``large fire'' and the building was destroyed, Mr Wanoa said.

It was not yet known what caused the fire but fire safety officers were now at the property investigating.
