Young Norsewood jump jammers are about to star in a DVD with Brett Fairweather, the creator of the dance craze.
"I'm super proud of what the girls have achieved and hope many more opportunities will arise," coach Michelle Mitchell said.
A few weeks ago Brett contacted Michelle to say hewould love some of last year's jump-jam team members to audition for his latest DVD release.
"Unfortunately some girls chosen couldn't make it to the auditions, but six girls did make the trip to Auckland," Michelle said.
Last year the Norsewood and Districts School teams attended the North Island championships, where the Terrific Trio team were first in the Year 7-8 X-Factor category, while the Bollywood Babes came second in the Year 4-6 novice challenge.
The Oompa Loompas received merit awards in sportsmanship and technical execution, plus excellence and costuming, in the Year 1-4 open challenge.
In Auckland, Norsewood's Tayla Mitchell made it into the top group with Brett on the DVD, with Casey and Amber Mitchell in the next group.
Haley Black, along with Stevye and Drew Bishop, were selected for the third group.
"Brett releases a new DVD/CD package each year, which schools around New Zealand can purchase," Michelle said.
Jump Jam 18 will be released later this year, featuring all six Norsewood girls.
"The time in Auckland was full on, but loads of fun," Michelle said.
"Tayla described it as one of the most exciting and memorable moments in jump jam, while Stevye said she loved the dances and it was a chance of a lifetime."
