I have thoroughly enjoyed going through all the photos we have been receiving in our Holiday Photo Competition.

Once again we have teamed up with Harvey Norman in Hastings, who will give the winner a Lumix digital camera valued at more than $800.

See the competition details on page 10 of today's paper. Thanks to Harvey Norman for the prize, which I am sure you will agree is an outstanding one.

However, if you want to win it, you had better hurry because the competition, which has been running since just after Christmas, ends at 4pm on Friday January 29.

I was staggered by how many people have taken the time to enter the competition and I reckon the judges, led by our chief photographer Warren Buckland, will have a tough job determining the winner.

We will contact the winner and publish the results in Hawke's Bay Today in the week of February 1-6.

Over the course of the last few weeks, you may have noticed that we have published some of the photos. Yesterday, we even put one of the front page and today we are running more on page ten.

While the weather may have been temperamental over the holiday break, it has not stopped people getting out and about.

The brief for entering the competition was that the photographs should reflect the 2015/2016 summer in Hawke's Bay, whether at work or play and many people have stuck to that.

There are a lot of photos of children and families having fun together - the way it should be.

So, sift through your holiday snaps and take some time to send them to competitions@hbtoday.co.nz.

Who knows, you may soon be the proud owner of a new camera.
