How dare these "young people" intimidate staff so badly that they felt the need to protect themselves with security guards?
Trespass notices mean nothing to this disrespectful group of brats.
Where are the parents? Did they know about the trespass notices? If not, they should have and if so, they are worse than their children for allowing it to carry on.
A library is a place of quiet and calm. A place where people go to read and research. A place little children are introduced to the joy of selecting a book, tucking it very importantly under their arm and taking it home.
It is no place for a group of teenage boys to throw their weight around because they want to play on the internet.
Good on Napier City Council for listening to staff and hiring security to ensure the safety of workers and library users.
However, does that mean these teenagers just get away with their intimidating behaviour?
Perhaps a visit from the police is what is needed, just in case their parents have no idea what their offspring have been getting up to.
