At least four people were injured in a random attack on a Dannevirke home by a group of drunk teenagers.
Dannevirke police sergeant Gary McKernon said the incident, in which at least six young people were involved, occurred at an address in Tennyson Street in the early hours of themorning on Sunday, December 4.
The youths broke windows and assaulted the occupants, he said.
Four people were taken to Palmerston North hospital to be checked out.
One of the victims underwent surgery and one of the suspects was also badly hurt.

Police were still trying to piece together what happened and were talking to all involved.
“The victims and teenagers do not appear to be known to each other,” McKernon said.
He said there were several offences related to drunkenness in the Tararua District town on Saturday night and Sunday morning, possibly related to unofficial ‘crate day’ festivities.
