A fast and furious dispute saw two motorists smash into each other and endanger pedestrians during a reckless chase caused by an argument over a car.

Police are seeking the public's help to locate a car that was involved in a dispute in Napier today.

At around 4.20pm two people had an argument over the sale of a vehicle.

As a result of the dispute two vehicles were driven recklessly through central Napier to Clive, about 10km away, and it appeared one vehicle was chasing the other.
