When pharmacy owner Tom Ward received a phone call from two excited staff members at 11pm he knew something major had happened.

The two, Melissa Monaghan and Sheryl Augustine were selected to attend the Elizabeth Arden conference in Noosa and their late night phone call was to tell Mr Ward they'd won the prestige award for their exceptional dedication.

"We were so excited. It was something we didn't see coming," Sheryl told the Dannevirke News.

The award came at the end of a five-day stay at the Sheraton in Noosa, compliments of Elizabeth Arden, and Mr Ward said their award was a reflection on how good the two were at their jobs.

Melissa said exceptional service was the key to their win.

"It's number one and it's why our customers keep coming back. And it just goes to show you don't need to go shopping out-of-town what we offer here is up with the best. We're also lucky Tom and Elizabeth Arden backs us too. Mind you, we were pretty blown away by our win, we thought we were just going over there for the conference."

Selected to attend the Elizabeth Arden conference because of the quality of their in-store presentations and promotions, Mr Ward said it was the way the two go about their jobs which makes the difference.

"They were over the moon with their win and it's a very elusive award because these two have been in competition with all the big stores. The girls have also carried out some great promotions of their own and we were one of just 10 stores selected for the Red Door spa promotion even though we were up against all the big department stores."

To thank all their customers, who they couldn't take to Noosa with them, there will be a big promotional reward coming up soon, Melissa said.
