Cycling documentary All For One transcends sport at Hawke's Bay Summer Cycling Carnival

While there will be plenty of action on two wheels at the upcoming Hawke's Bay Summer Cycling Carnival, for those wanting some sporting drama without the physical effort a special movie screening could fit the bill.

Presented by The Big Bike Film Night, the film, All for One, has been shown around the country over the last couple of months, and will be hitting Napier this Friday, January 5, for its final screening.

The Big Bike Film Night curator Brett Cotter said the feature-length documentary chronicled the first five years of Australia's first professional cycling teams, where the riders took on the international circuit in their own unique way.

"It's incredible - a real rollercoaster and one of those films that, although aimed at cycling purists, can be enjoyed by everyone.

"It transcends cycling and sport and carries amazing messages of the power of determination, never giving up, and putting your heart and soul on the line."

Mr Cotter said the film debuted in Auckland in November last year, and it was a perfect fit to have the finale at one of the country's premier cycling events.

While there was plenty of competitive cycling action in store at the BDO Elite Road National Championships starting on Friday, pleasure riders are also invited to take part in the carnival that includes events such as the Bay Espresso Winery Fun Ride, the Black Barn Vineyards Criterium, the Traffic Design Group Flying Lap and the Tineli Gran Fondo Ride.
